Born and raised in Pictou County, where he played all his minor hockey. Jon enjoyed a spectacular junior career where he spent 4 seasons with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. He totaled 311 points including two back to back 56 goals season and is still to this day the all time franchise points and goals leader. Drafted by the Dallas Stars in 1996, where he captured a STANLEY CUP in 1998/99. Jon went on to play 469 games in the NHL. Jon’s resume includes 15 years of professional hockey, 902 games played, 64 playoff games as well as 3 League Championships including one being the STANLEY CUP.
Jon is also an NHL Players Association Board Member of GOALS & DREAMS which also provides support to the many hockey communities across Canada.
